Low-dose computed tomography in COVID-19: literature review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Objective. To systematize data on the appropriateness and effectiveness of LDCT in diagnosis lung lesions COVID-19.
Materials methods. Analysis relevant national foreign literature sources scientific libraries eLIBRARY, PubMed by queries "low dose computed tomography COVID-19", COVID-19" published between 2020 2022. Publications were included review after assessing relevance to topic title abstract analysis. The references also analyzed identify articles omitted during search that might meet inclusion criteria.
Results. Studies summarized current imaging COVID-19 use CT scans identified possible options for reducing effective dose.
Conclusion. Ways reduce radiation exposure chest preserve high quality diagnostic images, likely sufficient reliable detection signs are presented. Further study application from side development a universally applicable protocol with assessment accuracy, sensitivity specificity coronavirus pneumonia is required.

Dose Reduction Methods in Chest Computed Tomography
Introduction: Computed tomography is one of the most powerful tools for investigating thorax disease, because it shows progression of lung disease much clearer than chest radiography. Technical advances in CT scanners have led to some abilities for CT scanners such as coverage of larger volume, lower noise and ability for acquiring image in one respiratory phase. However, this will be accompani...
متن کاملLow-dose computed tomography lung cancer screening.
Lung cancers, primarily caused by tobacco smoking, are the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States and around the world. Screening of select high-risk patients using low-dose helical computed tomography (LD-CT) has been shown to reduce lung cancer mortality by 20% compared with chest radiography. However, because there are risks to LD-CT lung cancer screening, it should be performed...
متن کاملLearned Shrinkage Approach for Low-Dose Reconstruction in Computed Tomography
We propose a direct nonlinear reconstruction algorithm for Computed Tomography (CT), designed to handle low-dose measurements. It involves the filtered back-projection and adaptive nonlinear filtering in both the projection and the image domains. The filter is an extension of the learned shrinkage method by Hel-Or and Shaked to the case of indirect observations. The shrinkage functions are lear...
متن کاملLow-dose computed tomography in the evaluation of urolithiasis.
Urolithiasis is common, with the lifetime risk in the United States exceeding 12% in men and 6% in women, and the prevalence appears to have increased in recent years. In addition, many patients have recurrent stones, with an estimated rate of 30% to 40% within 5 years. Noncontrast CT is the imaging study of choice in patients with acute flank pain, replacing traditionally used radiography, ult...
متن کاملAutomated detection of lung nodules in low-dose computed tomography
A computer-aided detection (CAD) system for the identification of pulmonary nodules in low-dose multi-detector computed-tomography (CT) images has been developed in the framework of the MAGIC-5 Italian project. One of the main goals of this project is to build a distributed database of lung CT scans in order to enable automated image analysis through a data and cpu GRID infrastructure. The basi...
